Welcome to The Comfort Kitchen Home

Hi, I’m Sarah Leadon, a food blogger, author, and full‑time cook. I create practical, comforting recipes for real life, especially for people who work long hours, cook for one, or want meals that feel doable at the end of a busy day.
Food has always been a central part of my life. I come from a long line of cooks, and I’ve spent the past 11 years working in professional kitchens. I started blogging in 2021, and over time, my corner of the internet has grown into a space where I share recipes that feel familiar, grounding, and easy to enjoy.
The Comfort Kitchen Home reflects the season I’m in now. A slower, more intentional season focused on comfort. It’s not about perfection. It’s about creating meals that feel like home, even on the busiest days.

My Roots

I’m from Eleuthera, a beautiful island in The Bahamas, where food is about more than eating. It’s about celebration, connection, and community.
My grandfather was an incredible cook, and my grandmother was a gifted baker. People rarely left our home empty‑handed. I still remember the joy on their faces when people tasted her coconut tart or benny cake.
Moments like those inspired me to attend culinary school at 17, where I learned to appreciate food from many cultures while staying rooted in my Bahamian heritage. Their legacy lives on in every recipe I create today.

My Background

My journey has taken me through many kitchens and creative roles, each one shaping how I cook and create now. I’ve spent over 11 years cooking in professional kitchens from resorts to retirement homes and even a hospice. These experiences shape how I cook today: practical, comforting meals that fit real life.
Outside of the kitchen, I’ve worn many creative hats: recipe developer, food writer, cookbook ghostwriter, food photographer, and video creator. Each role helped me build the skills I use to share reliable, comforting recipes here on my website.
I also double‑majored in Psychology and Communication Studies, which deepened my understanding of how food fits into our daily lives, routines, and emotional well‑being.

How The Comfort Kitchen Home Came to Life

This space didn’t appear overnight. It grew slowly, shaped by my experiences, my heritage, and the way my life has shifted over the past year.
I wanted a place that felt more aligned with how I cook now: simple meals, comforting flavors, practical routines, and a soft‑life approach to the kitchen. I’m not talking about the “aesthetic homemaker” sense, but in the real‑life way: choosing peace, simplicity, and intention over pressure and perfection.
The Comfort Kitchen Home is where I share recipes and ideas that make cooking feel manageable, enjoyable, and grounding.

Food connects us all. It’s more than a meal. It’s a moment that brings comfort, tells stories, and turns an ordinary day into something memorable.

  • Freezer‑friendly meals for busy weeks
  • Practical kitchen inspiration to make cooking feel easier
  • Simple routines and soft‑life living that prioritize comfort and well‑being
  • A bit of personal insight (stories, lessons, and moments that influence the food I create)
Every recipe is tested multiple times in my own kitchen, so you can trust that it’s reliable, easy to make, and satisfying.

A Final Note

I’m not a nutritionist, and this blog isn’t medical advice. I’m simply a cook who loves sharing recipes that feel like home. The Comfort Kitchen Home is built from my lived experiences, my heritage, and my belief that cooking can be a comforting part of everyday life.
Thank you for choosing to be part of my community and for spending time in my little corner of the internet. I hope you find recipes that bring comfort to your kitchen and make your everyday meals feel a little easier.
